What We Do

We do not develop for Internet Explorer 6 anymore.

Since the cyber attack on Google Email accounts in China using an Internet Explorer 6 (IE 6) security flaw, we as a company have decided that we cannot ethically develop websites for use with IE 6 and still claim our sites are secure and stable. Therefore any websites developed from 1st February 2010 will not be tested with IE6 and are unlikely to work 100% with the browser.

We build Sites using a combination of XHTML and PHP.

The reason for this is that by adhering to the rules of XHTML, set out by the World Wide Web Consortium W3C (the governing body of the Web if you like), we can make sites that are universally accessible to the majority of Web Browsers and Screen Readers enabling the site to be read by a greater range of visitors.

Also we do not use Flash on any of our Web Sites as the majority of Screen Readers are unable to read the content. This alienates a large majority of possible customers to your site and really, in our opinion, is against the ethos of a 'Free-for-All' Internet. Also at present some handheld devices are not capable of displaying Flash animations like the iPhone and iPad.

The use of PHP is so we can make Dynamic Web Sites that change without 're-coding' the site. For example you may want a Date and Time function in the header of your site that says "Welcome" and "Today's date is...". The reason we use PHP and not other languages like ASP.net is we believe strongly that it is the best language to use with the MySQL Database program and also we like to support and promote the use of OpenSource languages.

MySQL Databases can be built to work with your Web Site.

We can make a Database to suit your needs using the Universally used MySQL program.
